Sola Allyson Launches New Album

Seven years after debuting with the fan-favourite ‘Eji owuro’ (originally the soundtrack to a popular movie produced by actress Bimbo Oshin), songwriter-singer Sola Allyson is yet to slow down.

The gospel act is one of the most dedicated creators in her sub-sector, so, when she took up a new album project, it was only natural for fans and critics to hold their breathe and expect the best.

The young woman delivered the goods few weeks back, when she launched and released her new body of work on February 21 and the Jogor Centre in Ibadan. ‘Imo’Ore’, the new CD, sees respected producer Cobhams Asuquo joining the singer to work gospel pieces where international celestial sounds meet homegrown Yoruba gospel classics.

The album launch was attended by many fans and dignitaries including the first lady of Ondo State Olukemi Mimiko, Yinka Ayefele, Cobhams Asuquo, and Kunle Hamilton

This is the singer’s fourth album. Past projects include: Eji Owuro (2003), Gbeje Fori (2005) and Ire (2007).

Allyson, who’s a mother-of-two, is married to her partner and collaborator Obaniyi.
